Are Japanese Cars Really Better Than American Cars?
Toyota Recall Gives Automaker A Black Eye
Automaker giant Toyota announced that it will recall another nearly 2,300,000 automobiles after more vehicles were found to have accelerators that stick, making it nearly impossible for the driver to stop. The recall comes after a man and his family were driving in the San Diego area when the accelerator in the Toyota he was driving became jammed, causing the man to be involved in a fatal car accident that took the life of the man and all of his passengers. Thankfully, Toyota has released in a statement to GPS tracking company, Tracking System Direct and other press/news agencies that it has found a solution to the problem effecting many Toyota vehicles operational in the U.S.
The recall issue was so serious that Toyota stopped automobile sales in nearly 50% of the models in the U.S. The remedy that Toyota has for the sticking gas pedals is still waiting approval from government regulators.
Many safety experts have expressed serious concern regarding Toyota's fix alleviating the acceleration problem since the problem has been affecting Toyota vehicles since October of last year, resulting in almost 5.5 million vehicles being recalled.
