Shock Jock May Replace Simon Cowell
Good Or Bad For American Idol?
Television may get a whole lot more interesting if the rumors are true that radio shock jock Howard Stern may potentially replace Simon Cowell as a judge on the highly-rated Fox talent competition American Idol. Cowell, who will be leaving the mega-successful show to pursue his own spin-off show, an American version of the popular British show The X Factor, is judging Idol presumably for the last time this year.
Tracking System Direct, a wholesale provider of personal GPS tracking and vehicle tracking devices, has had sources confirm that the American Idol executives are interested in Stern because of his honest and sometimes crude statements that could potentially be more entertaining than the those of Cowell's. Not to mention, American Idol is one of the few shows that could approach Stern financially because of its incredible ratings and money generated from advertising.
Stern is currently in the midst of a $100 million dollar deal with satellite radio provider Sirius, but that deal is expected to end later this year.
Although there has been no official press release from the brains and executives running American Idol regarding Stern joining the judging panel, the hot stove reports suggest that talks have intensified over the past few days.
Like him or not, Stern brings flavor and lightning to everything he does, and this GPS tracking expert believes Stern could be a breath of fresh air to American Idol.
