Fans Still Have Love For Leno

Jay Wins Ratings Battle By Wide Margin Over Letterman

LenoNobody knew if the fans would return to watch Jay Leno when he made his comeback to the Tonight Show last night, but now the ratings are in and what they said was that the NBC executives who caused such a mess may have been right. According to the national ratings obtained by Tracking System Direct, a leader in real-time and passive GPS tracking system technologies, Jay Leno and the Tonight Show dominated the late night ratings by a huge margin, beating out CBS funny man David Letterman and ABC semi-funny man Jimmy Kimmel.

NBC executives received a great deal of negative publicity only a few months ago when they gave red haired comic genius Conan O'Brien the boot from his short stay hosting the Tonight Show, giving it back to Leno. Leno himself also received a great deal of criticism for his role in the public relations nightmare.

NBC made the change because of a dramatic decline in ratings after Conan O'Brien took over the 11:35 gig.

It will take months before we know if Leno can sustain the ratings, but at this point in time it appears the NBC executives who were labeled "stupid buffoons" for creating the debacle may have actually got it right. Leno will retake his throne as the leader of late night, and O'Brien will get a show on another network where he can be more creative and edgy.

Tracking System Opinion

Will Leno be able to sustain the high ratings?

Do you prefer watching Leno, Letterman, Kimmel, O'Brien or the back of your eyelids?
