What GPS Tracker Is The Solution?

When talking about a child GPS tracking system the only solution is a live, real-time system, and the most reliable and precise real-time tracking device is the Victoria tracking system. The Victoria tracking system will record the position of a child every time they move 20 feet, or every 10 seconds if they are inside a vehicle that is moving over 10 miles per hour. The Victoria tracking system even has the ability for parents to set virtual boundaries so they can receive an email or text message alert when a child arrives or leaves from school, home, or a friend's house.

Feel the security and peace-of-mind knowing you will always be able to monitor your child regardless if you are at home or work.

Tracking Vehicles In Winston-Salem

GPS School Bus Tracking When it comes to automotive security one of the best tools on the market has been the GPS monitoring system. GPS monitoring systems provide a comprehensive vehicle management solution that allows real-time locational data, mileage accounting and highly detailed information regarding driving activity. This is why it is not a surprise that the North Carolina city of Winston-Salem has moved forward with a plan to equip school buses with GPS bus tracking systems that will give parents and school district officials enhanced safety over students throughout Forsyth County.

Tracking School Buses With GPS

Child student safety is always at the forefront among administrators at school districts all across the country, and modern technology is providing solutions to help. Today, there are a number of different vehicle management tools that combine cellular, GPS and other technologies to offer a comprehensive monitoring solution that enhances automotive security and safety. Winston-Salem school administrators were able to see the benefits of GPS car tracking units and after learning the technology could notify parents about potential bus delays or accidents it was clear that bus tracking was something that wanted to invest in.

According to statements made by a dispatcher for Winston-Salem school officials, the bus tracking units will track each bus in the district fleet as fast as every second. And with parents making phone calls to dispatchers frequently when delays do occur, officials are hoping the GPS tracking plan will reduce those unnecessary calls, boost safety and provide a better management system. In fact, parents will not ever need to call dispatchers to find out where a bus might be located because they can instead use a app called “Here Comes the Bus” that will provide bus locations in real-time.

The tracking app will give parents up-to-date information regarding bus locations which can be particularly helpful when weather is bad, something that often creates delays for bus drivers. Parents will also have the option to set geo-fences which will alert them via email or text message when a bus is getting close so students don’t have to sit outside in the cold or heat waiting. The bus tracking data will also document mileage and vehicle speed in detail so school officials can evaluate drivers to be certain they are taking the most efficient routes and driving safely overall.

The investment for the tracking app will be roughly $29.95 a year for parents who want to take advantage of the bus monitoring systems.

Child GPS Tracker The numbers associated with Autism are now at epidemic figures. According to a new government study published by the folks at Autism Speaks, Autism Spectrum Disorder now occurs in 1 of every 45 kids. Those are absolutely frightening numbers, and that means anyone reading this article likely knows a family where Autism resides. Since Autism is a spectrum disorder it means some kids can essentially get a tougher hand dealt to them. For example, one child with Autism can have some issues with socialization but can seem totally typical other than that, whereas another child with autism can be completely non-verbal and require 24/7 care. And of course there are kids everywhere in between. One mother in Bakersfield, California understands the more severe side of Autism and because she worries about the safety of her 6-year-old daughter with Autism she is battling her local school district to allow GPS tracking technology in the classroom.

GPS Tracking Bracelets At School

Darcy Cotton constantly worries about the safety of her 6-year-old autistic daughter Jaden, and that is why she invested in a personal GPS monitoring system designed to locate her daughter at all times. The live tracker allows Cotton to view the whereabouts of her daughter all through her mobile phone. But most importantly the tracker can be programmed with safe zones that will alert parents if their child leaves those safety zones. This way the parent can be notified the very second their child might wander away. Although the child tracker seems like a great tool for personal safety that would be heralded by any school district, Shirley Lane Elementary has not been so enthusiastic about the approach. In fact, the school district is fighting the request of Cotton who wants her daughter to wear the device while attending class.

A superintendent working for Fairfax School District, which oversees activity at Shirley Lane Elementary, stated that district had concerns over the tracking unit because it could create privacy issues that the district is unaware of. He would go on to explain that the Bakersfield school district did not want to violate the privacy rights of other students or faculty members and that the tracker had the potential to do that. He also stated that it was not a medical necessity for the girl to wear the child GPS tracking device.

Cotton has went on record multiple times explaining that she feels the tracker could potentially save her daughter’s life if she ever wandered away so therefore the GPS is a necessity. And according to a study by the American Academy of Pediatrics that provides statistics showing 50% of kids with Autism will wander away at least once, Cotton may have a strong case.

The Bakersfield area superintendent has a meeting scheduled with Cotton where the two will discuss the tracker in more detail and hopefully find common ground. Obviously, the school wants to make certain that students are safe but at the same time be sure student privacy rights are also not being violated.

Using GPS Tracking To Keep Kids Safe

child with blocksWhen I was younger I never understood why my parents spent so much time worrying about me. In fact, I was probably more annoyed by the way they would ask me a million questions about my day at school, call my friend's parents and basically micromanage my life. It felt like they did not trust me to do anything or go anywhere alone. As I became older it became more clear that the reason they asked so many questions about my daily life was simply that they cared for me. Now, as a parent myself to a 9-month-old baby, I am experiencing firsthand the real stress associated with loving someone so much that it makes you sometimes feel almost unnecessary worry. It starts the moment they are born. Increases the first drive home from the hospital to home. Spikes when the baby begins to sleep in her own room in her own crib for the first time. Yes the stress feels so real you can taste it, and I imagine that never goes away for a parent. That is why I was intrigued when I heard more and more parents were using personal tracking devices that use GPS technology to monitor their kids as they walk to and from school by placing the GPS monitoring system in a child's backpack.

What Is Live GPS Tracking?

Live GPS monitoring technology has been around now for nearly two decades and continues to grow in terms of applications from teen driving safety to business vehicle management. Satellites orbiting the Earth from outer space send low level radio signals to the surface of the planet where they are then acquired by GPS receivers. Through this connection locational data such as speed, altitude, acceleration and more are calculated in precise detail. The data housed on the GPS receiver then transmits the data to off-site computer servers where it can be superimposed over satellite images programs such as Google Maps and also be accessed remotely by a user. This technology has been instrumental in helping the military accurately strike a target, motorists navigate from point A to Point B more quickly, businesses effectively manage company vehicles and now parents keep a more watchful eye on their kids.

Tracking Children With GPS Systems

GPS technology has continued to evolve with trackers becoming more reliable and the online interfaces that showcase live GPS data becoming more user-friendly to those with even little computer expertise. This has resulted in a boom in child tracking solutions designed specifically to help parents monitor their kids 24/7, and one of the most popular child GPS monitoring is a device known as SilverCloud Tag Personal GPS. What the Tag Personal GPS offers is a compact housing that makes it easy for any child to keep the tracker in their pocket or backpack. With the GPS monitoring system in the child's pocket or backpack parents can then go online from a smart phone or computer to see where their child is at whenever the parent feels the desire to do so. The Tag Personal GPS also comes with a safe zone feature to alert parents through an email or text message if their child has exited that safe zone. This feature is very helpful for parents who want to know when their child left school, an amusement park or any event that could be going on. The reality is that kids can get lost at a place as simple as a grocery store and some kids are not responsible enough to have cell phones. GPS personal monitoring systems give parents the assurance they want and need, but most importantly are cost-effective in price ($1 a day for tracking service).

As a parent, I hope that the worry I feel over my child's safety will become reduced as they get older but that is highly doubtful. I believe in a proactive parental approach and avoiding potential dangers before they become present so I personally plan to learn more and likely invest in a child GPS tracker once my daughter begins walking and leaving the house on her own.

How do you feel about GPS technology systems used to help parents keep track of their kids?

GPS Tracking Systems Enhancing Child Safety

Child in snowWhen a child becomes old enough to attend school parents are left with two feelings. The first is one of pride that that their baby is growing up and about to take the next step in the evolution of learning. The other feeling is one of fear that they won't be there to protect their child if something happens. The second feeling is becoming more and more common as stories of bullying and school shootings tend to dominate national news headlines. There is no question that kids today face more unique and dangerous challenges than those their parents faced when attending school, but the one thing everyone can agree on is that steps must be made to make certain student safety is top priority. With child safety a major concern, parents are now taking personal safety of their kids into their own hands with GPS tracking systems that offer real-time location updates.

Real-Time GPS Trackers Keep Kids Monitored

Tracking applications have continued to expand with the decrease in cost of the technology and increase in operation simplicity of the devices. This is something that has put a smile on the face of parents everywhere because it has opened up the doors to more applications related to personal safety such as GPS monitoring of children. How GPS child tracking works is a simple three (3) step process:

  1. Child keeps portable tracker system in their pocket or backpack.
  2. GPS monitoring system transmits real-time locations of where that child is at periodically throughout the day (usually updates occur every minute).
  3. Parents can go online using their cell phones, computers or tablets to see where their child is at throughout the day.

Real-time trackers such as SilverCloud GPS also come engineered with a number of alerting features designed specifically to notify parents the moment their child walks off school campus grounds. One feature in particular known as geo-fencing provides parents the ability to create safe zones. When the child leaves these safe zones an alert is immediately transmitted out to the parents via text message and email notifying them that their child has left that safe zone perimeter. This feature is ideal for keeping parents informed about when their child arrives/leaves school and arrives/leaves home.

Real-Time GPS Watch Alerts Parents

childParents understand that kids can wander or run off in a flash and that is why parental caregivers are always keeping a watchful eye on their children. However, keeping a close and watchful eye on a child can sometimes be a challenging task, especially if a parent and child are at a location with lots of hustle and bustle. Grocery stores, amusement parks, zoos and other places where a child can be distracted and zoom off can turn a pleasant day into a nightmare. With child safety being at the forefront of any parent's mind, GPS watches that offer real-time tracking are giving moms and dads yet another way to monitor their kids.

GPS Tracking Watches For Kids

Tracking systems have been used extensively over the past ten years for a number of different uses from fleet tracking to personal monitoring. The reason is because there are a great number of businesses and families who could benefit from having real-time access of vehicles, assets or loved ones. This is why it was only a matter of time before manufacturers of GPS tracking systems eventually began to develop cost-effective monitoring hardware that could meet the needs of the everyday family. Everyday families seeking a tool to quickly locate their children in an emergency situation or for any other reason.

When a parent has their child wear a GPS watch that tracking bracelet/watch will constantly send out its location to a off-site computer server. This computer sever takes that positional data and displays it in a readable format over a maps program such as Google Earth. The mapping program, which is accessible through computer or smart phone, allows the parent to instantly see where their child is at. All of this happens in fractions of a second, giving the parent total oversight of their children all thanks in part to the help of satellite monitoring devices.
